Yesterday...
Current mood: excited
So, I tried to write this blog yesterday and when I went to post it, it gave me an error message and didn't post, so let's try this again...
Yesterday was the one year anniversary of when we found out Sandy, Matt's mom, died. I was a bit worried about what emotions were going to be like yesterday, but actually it turned out to be one of the best days in a long time.
I had my 2nd interview with Applebee's yesterday... And hooray for me, I have an official job! I'm excited for some reason. lol. I think because I haven't worked in so long and I'm motivated by the fact that I will finally be doing something and making money doing it. After I found out I got the waitressing position at Applebee's, I got a call from Buckeye Cable about the Creative Service Producer position! So, in about a half hour I'm heading out to an interview for the producer position at Buckeye!! I'm not sure how the interview is going to go, but I'm keeping a positive outlook! I want this job so bad... I'm hoping they at least consider me.
So anyway, those were the highlights of yesterday. What I was afraid could have been a very dark day turned out to be one of the best days in recent months. Ohh, and by the way, all of these new developments mean that I won't be taking the job at Bankers as the insurance agent. It wasn't really what I wanted to do in the first place and now that I have the position at Applebee's, I can at least get some money moving in. Not to mention I'm hoping to get this position at Buckeye! Let's hope the interview goes well today!!

New News
So, I have new news...I may not actually take the job at Bankers Life (the insurance place)...
Saturday morning I awoke to find a new Monster Job Search Result in my email inbox...Most days I look at this and it's the same old boring jobs from the day before...Saturday was not such a day though...
On this day there was a new job listing from Buckeye Cablesystems for a Creative Service Producer position! I almost screamed! The job only requires 1 year of experience (which I have 2 years with the internship program at school and a little more through the internship I did at 13abc) and it's a producers position in which I would be writing commercials and doing editing for them! I want this job soooooooooooooo bad!!! This is exactly the type of thing I have been looking for. I didn't really want to produce for news because, to be completely honest, I hate the media, but this would be awesome! I would still get to write and control what I wrote, but it involves being more creative than just news everyday.
So, anyway, they are accepting resumes until the 25th of this month and then they will be reviewing them. I'm soooo nervous and anxious! Until then, I'm going on interviews at Applebee's to get a waitressing position (hey, it's good money) and I'm still going to study to get my insurance license just in case. But yeah, everyone please keep your fingers crossed for me!!

So, I know I just wrote a blog yesterday, but I just had to post another one that told everyone that I FINALLY got a job! I'm so excited!! It's still going to be a few weeks before I actually start because I'm going to be selling insurance, so I have to take a class and get my license, but I'm happy! I can't wait! This job pays sooo well! But yeah, now I gotta get cracking on learning about selling insurance. Hoorah!

Bored With No Job

So, I never realized how much it sucked to feel like you aren't going anywhere in life. Ugghh...I hate sitting around without a goal to reach. I need a job sooooo bad!! On the upside, I do have a 3rd interview tomorrow. It's with an insurance company in Toledo. I'm somewhat excited about the job, but it's also kind of scary. It's all commission work and there is a lot to learn. The good thing is that it pays really well if I can actually do well in the business. So, yeah, the interview is supposed to last for an hour or so and I'm a bit nervous about it. I truly hate interviews because I always think about the questions they are going to ask, but then when they actually ask them I forget my answer. I don't know...Hopefully I'm feeling more confident tomorrow.
If this whole job situation doesn't work out, I'm not sure what I have going for me. I've applied for sooo many positions in the past weeks. I applied for a job at 13abc even though it's not really with the actual TV station. I applied to the Toledo Zoo, the Toledo Art Museum, Borders, Barners and Noble, two other insurance agencies, and some other odds and ends things I found online. I would love it if I heard something back from the zoo about positions they might have in their marketing department or PR or something like that.
Moving on to other things, I love our apartment in Toledo. I love living in Toledo. I love everything about Toledo! I was definitely meant for the city life! We are finally getting most of boxes unpacked and put away. Our kitchen only have one box left, the bedroom is done, and Matt only has one box left in the game room. The only room that needs some serious attention is the living room, but that's prolly going to take a lot of work because it's a lot of stuff that we have to sort and go through to decide where it goes. But yeah, yesterday I spent a majority of the day fixing up the bedroom, but I felt really accomplished after it was done and looked all nice. It made me feel good!
Gosh, I really do need a job. I hate cleaning and because I have nothing else to do, that is turning into my main goal. haha. Ohh, I forgot to mention our new puppy Zira! She's a lot of fun! I think she's going to get kind of big though. Well, at least a bit bigger than we had originally thought, like maybe more like 30 or 35 pounds instead of 25. But anyway, she's adorable and a bundle of fun. Jay thinks so too! They love playing together and they act just like brother and sister. It's pretty cute. So anyway, I better get off here and start seriously thinking about the questions they might ask me tomorrow in my interview. Hope all is well with everyone else!
